If you are interested in operating a food truck or food trailer in the City of Shreveport, you must first obtain a MPC-issued food truck and trailer license. This page will help you understand how to apply, and if you are approved, what general requirements you will need to abide by. 

Food Truck/Trailer Vendor's License shall be valid for a period of one year. You will need to fill out an new application in order to renew a food truck license.


APPLICATION INFORMATION

For Online Applications:

  1. Logon to MyGovernmentOnline.
    • We use a third party application called MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) for our online applications. If you have not used MGO before, please follow the Customer Portal Guide to set up an account.
    • Once an account has been created follow the "Apply Online" link at the end of the instructions to start your application. For assistance in applying online, please follow the step by step Online Application Submittal Guide.
    • Ensure all items from the checklist are included in your application. Refer to the Application Checklist section of this page.
      • Photos of the mobile food truck 
      • Valid vehicle registration
      • Copy of insurance
      • Health Unit Permit 
      • Shreveport Caddo Tax Registration Certificate
      • Louisiana Sales Tax Registration Certificate
      • Commercial General Liability Insurance
      • Hold Harmless Agreement
      • Home-Based Business/Certificate of Occupancy
      • Occupational License
    • When selecting an Application Type, choose "Food Truck Vendor License Application"
    • Once submitted you will receive a confirmation message and application number (i.e. APP-MPC-####). The Shreveport MPC will receive your application and review the application. You will be contacted for additional information or to progress to the next step.
  2. Submit Payment.
    • Once you have received your invoice, you may submit payment online at MyGovernmentOnline.com or in person on the first floor of Government Plaza at the cashier window. For assistance with making an online payment, please use the Online Payment Guide. 
  3. Setup a Fire Inspection.
    • Contact the Permits Office at 318-673-6442 to setup a fire inspection. Once scheduled, meet with the inspector at the agreed location to complete the inspection.

  4. Await the Zoning Administrator's approval of your application.
  5. Pickup your food truck sticker.
