Code Text Amendment is intended to allow modifications in response to omissions or errors, changed conditions including subdivision of land, or changes in land use policy. Amendments are not intended to relieve particular hardships or confer special privileges or rights upon any person or party.


APPLICATION INFORMATION

For Paper Forms:

  1. Print or download the Application Form via the "APPLICATION PDF" link at the end of the instructions.
    • Fill out the application. Ensure all items from the checklist are included in your application. Refer to the Application Checklist section of this page.

    • You may submit your application via this page below, mail, e-mail, or in person.
    • Once submitted you will receive a confirmation message and application number (i.e. APP-MPC-####). The Shreveport MPC will receive your application and review the application. You will be contacted for additional information or to progress to the next step.
  2. Submit Payment.
    • Once you have received your invoice, you may submit payment in person on the first floor of Government Plaza at the cashier window. If you have a MyGovernmentOnline account, you may submit payment online. For assistance with making an online payment, please use the Online Payment Guide.
  3. Attend the Public Meeting.
    • After internal reviewal by MPC Staff, your application will be brought put on the next available Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) Agenda. You will receive information on the date of your case hearing. It is recommended that the applicant or representative attends the public meeting.
    • The MPC will evaluate the application at the public hearing and make a recommendation on your case: Recommend Approval or Recommend Denial.
  4. Action by City Council.
    • The City Council will review and act on the application within 90 days of receipt of the Metropolitan Planning Commission recommendation.
