Decisions of the Executive Director, Zoning Administrator and Planning Commission Boards may be appealed by an applicant or by any aggrieved party.

An appeal must be filed within ten days of the decision that is the subject of the appeal, excepting when each instance where the 10th calendar day falls on a weekend or holiday wherein the appeal period shall be extended by one business day.

Appeals filed more than ten days after the decision shall not be accepted.


APPLICATION INFORMATION

  1. Print or download the Appeals form via the "APPLICATION PDF" link at the end of the instructions.
    • Fill out the application. Ensure all items from the checklist are included in your application. Refer to the Application Checklist section of this page.

      • Written statement that specifies the grounds for the appeal
    • You may submit your application via this page below, mail, e-mail, or in person.
    • Once submitted you will receive a confirmation message and application number (i.e. APP-MPC-####). The Shreveport MPC will receive your application and review the application. You will be contacted for additional information or to progress to the next step.
  2. Submit Payment.
    • Once you have received your invoice, you may submit payment in person on the first floor of Government Plaza at the cashier window. If you have a MyGovernmentOnline account, you may submit payment online. For assistance with making an online payment, please use the Online Payment Guide.
  3. Attend the Public Meeting.
    • After internal reviewal by MPC Staff, your application will be brought put on the next available Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) or Parish Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC) Agenda. You will receive information on the date of your case hearing. It is recommended that the applicant or representative attends the public meeting.
    • The ZBA/ PZC will evaluate the application at the public hearing and make a decision on your case: Approval, Denial, or Deferral.
    • After the commission has provided a recommendation, you must wait 30 days to pull a permit.
  4. Wait 30 Days.
