ADMINISTRATION
The Administration Division oversees the overall duties of the MPC, including preparing and managing the organization's budget, personnel and the day-to-day management of the organization.
LAND DEVELOPMENT DIVISION
The Land Development Division regulates zoning and subdivision regulations, and reviews all land-use proposals for consistency with the Unified Development Code. They are responsible for presenting the applications at public hearings before the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, as applicable.
COMMUNITY PLANNING DIVISION
The Community Planning Division updates and amends all Community Plans within the MPC's Planning Limits for neighborhoods, corridors, and other smaller study areas within them. Community planning in Shreveport-Caddo is a collaborative process, involving MPC staff working with community stakeholders to develop the community and small area plans. This process seeks to balance the often competing needs of a wide variety of stakeholders to arrive at a common community vision, and then to apply sound planning principles to develop plans that foster sustainable community development and preservation.
ZONING ENFORCEMENT DIVISION
The Zoning Enforcement Division conducts inspections of properties throughout the city to determine compliance with code requirements and, when necessary, notifies owners of observed ordinance violations and methods by which to correct those violations. Code compliance is achieved through a combination of education, resource and assistance referral and enforcement.
