The Land Development department provides planning services to developers, business owners, and residents. It is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the City of Shreveport Unified Development Code, Caddo Parish Unified Development Code, Planned Unit Developments, Overlay Districts, Special Use Permits, and Subdivision Regulations for Shreveport and Caddo Parish.

These responsibilities also include assisting applicants with requests to rezone property, subdivide land, modify recorded building setbacks, determine permitted uses on a property, and building permit sign-offs. The Land Development Department also works with applicants on ways to correct a zoning violation.

The Land Development department uses the Zoning Code, Subdivision Regulations, and the Great Expectations Master Plan in completing reviews and making recommendations to both the Executive Director and MPC Board of Directors on submitted applications.

If you have questions about specific properties, contact a staff member of the MPC at (318) 673-6480.
